Web Spots

October 28, 2010

We made a couple Web Promo Spots for Bumsy.  They’re little shorties like T.V. spots but for the internet instead of the tube.

Here’s the first. A new one goes up tomorrow.

BCE is currently relocating its head office so bear with us. Once the move is over we’ll be ready to get episodes of Bumsy rolling out the door.

The Miracle of Kickstarter

September 22, 2010

Somehow, sadly, everything is always about money! Our survival, our loves, our wants, our needs, and maybe most importantly our art, is always, all about money. It takes money to do anything. To survive. And art…one way or another, art is expensive. In terms of time, materials…the freedom to express it. It all costs so much. Those of you who are artists know what an awful price it is to pay to have an artistic bent! The struggle between love and the legal tender as Jackson Browne notes.

Kickstarter has changed all that, and changed it forever. First there was peer to peer lending. The banking institution saw that this was a concept that would quickly eclipse the need for them. No sooner was it started than it was quashed by the Federal Government…er ahh…the banking industry. Suddenly with few exceptions, peer to peer lending vanished. The government and the banking industry decided that none of us had the right or privilege to lend money to one another and could not do so. That would only happen with the sanction, protection, and blessing of the government and the banking industry. And so it disappeared as quickly as it began.

Somewhere, somehow, Kickstarter was born! Again, people helping people. Only this time it was people giving the gift of their most precious resource. Money. The fruit of all their toil and labor. And since it was a gift…it was far beyond the reach of the banking industry and the government.

People’s appreciation and support of the arts began to flourish and grow as never before.

Kickstarter is unprecedented! Am I an unabashed cheerleader of Kickstarter? Of course I am, and you should be too! Kickstarter is all about love for human beings and what they can do and want and need to create and communicate with their fellow humans and it paves the way for all of us to do so. It is a miracle. It is a miracle of vision and the power of the internet! The miracle and power of creativity!

Kickstarter provides the gift of what makes human beings special on this planet. Creativity. Creativity is what makes us Godly and good and raises us above and beyond all that is not so good about us.

The Kickstarter model has the ability to change the world in ways far beyond its original intention. I want you all to think long and hard about this.

Right now the world is hurting and damaged and the old way of doing things will never return. What the world needs more than anything right now…is the next big thing. Clean energy and taking better care or our world are a part of it…but nothing is more important than us taking care of each other…and in so many ways…the Kickstarter model holds the potential for doing that. Put your thinking caps on…unleash your creativity…and do so within the parameters of this model…and you will help to profoundly change the world forever!

Long live Kickstarter and all that it stands for and has accomplished!

Production Update

September 8, 2010

I know it may feel like slow going here but the BCE crew is up in Prescott for a few days putting all the finishing touches on the content for our Kickstarter campaign. Yesterday I spent some time in Brent Reason’s sound studio smoothing everything out on our KS pitch video and I’m happy with the result.  Today we’ll be discussing any final issues and a promotion plan once were live on kickstarter.

Right now I’m gonna go out on a limb and say we’ll be up and running September 15th. We’re all excited to get this thing on the web and start the production ball rolling.

I’m planning to do regular video updates for here on out. Expect the first one on the 15th when we launch. Thanks for following.

Welcome!

August 15, 2010

Welcome to The Blogsy, the official home of all things Bumsy.

BUMSY is the collaborative efforts of Zachary Morgan(ZacKnife Ent.), M.D. Morgan(Milagro BeanField Films) and Billy Rose(of Billy Rose) to make an ongoing web comedy about the adventures and eccentricities of one talkative vagrant. This partnership will be bringing Bumsy to the masses in 26 short episodes available for free on YOUTUBE and here on The Blogsy over the course of a year. In each episode expect new faces, new places and new stories as Bumsy makes his way from home alley out into the big world.

But we need some help to get Bumsy off the ground(literally and figuratively). Operating under the moniker Banana Command Entertainment, we’re running a fundraising campaign to give Bumsy the production value he deserves. KICKSTARTER is a website dedicated to funding creative projects for and by the people. It’s our hope that Bumsy can find an audience there to help him be all that he can be. Last week we had a great shoot to get together all the material for our Kickstarter campaign. Currently we’re editing our pitch video and working out the details on all the fine rewards we’ll be offering to backers! We really need to start building momentum now and make this fundraising campaign count. Without your generous support Bumsy might never see the light of day.

Hopefully you’ll be getting the link to our Kickstarter page before the end of the month. In the mean time check out some of these production stills by the talented Evan Brown.
